Director of Studies (DoS) and English Teacher – EFL, ESL, TESOL

The role of Director of Studies is ideal for an experienced, Delta-qualified teacher of English who would like to take on responsibilities of managing a team of teachers and is looking for a new challenge.

The Director of Studies will be responsible for:
  • Supporting a team of 10 – 15 teachers with different levels of reaching experience
  • Overseeing delivery of high quality English courses
  • Maintaining friendly and supportive work and learning environment for teachers and students
  • Increasing student retention
  • Teacher recruitment and training
  • Encouraging teachers to continue professional development
  • Consulting on student placements and testing where necessary
  • Teaching English to adults

  • Essential requirements:

    Course Developer and English Teacher – EFL, ESL, TESOL

    The role of Course Developer is a middle management position for a DELTA holder. It is ideal for an experienced English language teacher who would like to progress in their career in education and take on a wide range of responsibilities.

    The Course Developer will be responsible for:
  • Research and development of teaching materials
  • Project-based development of new courses
  • Testing and implementation of new courses
  • Supporting teachers in course delivery
  • Teacher training
  • Assisting with teacher recruitment
  • Communicating with teachers, managers and administrative staff to assure smooth delivery of courses
  • Teaching English to adults

    Academic Consultant

    This role is ideal for an experienced Delta-qualified English teacher who would like to take on more responsibilities, support other teachers and stay close to the classroom at the same time. This is a mainly teaching role.

    Position:

  • All-year-round work
  • Daytime, evening and weekend teaching sessions available – to discuss
  • Teaching well motivated adults, maximum 10 students per group, general English, conversation classes and exam preparation
  • Supporting CELTA-qualified teachers in teaching related matters
  • Conducting teacher observations and ensuring a high standard of course delivery
  • Full-time or part-time – number of hours negotiable

  • Requirements:

  • CELTA and Delta holder (we will consider applications from teachers currently in Delta training)
  • Degree level of education
  • Excellent teaching skills
  • Minimum 3 years’ teaching experience
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Punctuality and professional manner essential
  • Commitment to professional development
  • Pro-active approach
  • Valid DBS check
  • Previous experience in a role of Academic Consultant a plus but not a must
