Academic Manager – EFL, ESL, TESOL

This middle-management vacancy in our English language school is ideal for an experienced teacher with Delta or Trinity TESOL Diploma who would like to take on more responsibilities in EFL management. The role will include EFL management responsibilities, teacher training, teacher recruitment, teaching and course development. The Academic Manager will be responsible for:
  • Daily support for teachers
  • Maintaining friendly, positive and supportive work and learning environment for teachers and students
  • Monitoring teachers’ lesson preparation and delivery, punctuality etc
  • Motivating teachers
  • Teacher observations and feedback
  • Delivering teacher training workshops
  • Course development
  • Interviewing candidates for teaching positions
  • Inductions of new teachers
  • Monitoring student placements and progress
  • Teaching English to adults

  • CELTA or Trinity TESOL
  • DELTA or Dip TESOL
  • University degree
  • Minimum 5 years’ teaching experience
  • Experience in teaching a range of courses including: general English, FCE, CAE, CPE exam preparation, IELTS, conversations and business English
  • Outstanding teaching skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passion for learning and teaching
  • Safeguarding awareness, first aid training, basic DBS check
  • Teacher training experience a plus
  • Course planning and material design experience
  • Personal qualities: positive, emotionally intelligent, hard-working, willing to share knowledge, professional, pro-active attitude, desire to succeed
